By Car

Bedale lies a mile to the west of the A1 from the Leeming Bar/A684 junction. The A684 is signposted to Bedale and Leyburn. The A1 runs north to Newcastle and Darlington, and south to Leeds. The A684 runs through Bedale from Northallerton to the east and Leyburn to the west.

Free Parking

There is free 2 hour disc parking in Bedale Market Place. Discs are available from local shops and the Tourist Information Centre in Bedale Hall. There are also two long stay car parks on Bridge Street which charge a small fee.

By Rail

Northallerton station is around 7 miles from Bedale and lies on the East Coast main line between Darlington and York. Bedale is also has a stop on the Wensleydale Railway at Aiskew.

By Bus

There is a 20-30 minute bus service to and from Northallerton. Local buses also run to Masham, Hawes and Leyburn. The Dales Bus runs buses around the Yorkshire Dales with additional bus services in the summer period. National Express coaches run through Darlington, Ripon and Thirsk.
